PDF a MD

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

PDF a MD is a personal project operated by an individual developer ("I", "me", or "my"). I run pdfamd.com, a free online tool that converts PDF files to Markdown. This Privacy Policy explains how I handle information when you use the website.

1. Summary

  • I do not require an account to use PDF a MD.
  • PDF files you upload are processed in memory for conversion and are not stored on my servers after the request completes.
  • I do not sell your personal information.
  • PDF a MD is not operated by a registered company.

2. Information I Process

When you convert a file, your PDF is transmitted to my conversion service so I can return Markdown output. The file is used only to perform that conversion.

Like most websites, hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process limited technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, request time, pages visited, and referring URL. I use this information only to operate, secure, and improve the service.

I do not ask for your name, email address, or payment information to use the free converter.

3. How I Use Information

I use information to provide the conversion service, enforce usage limits, monitor performance and errors, maintain security, and improve PDF a MD. I do not use uploaded PDF content for advertising profiles, and I do not sell uploaded content to third parties.

4. File Storage and Retention

Uploaded PDFs are processed in memory. I do not intentionally save your PDF or the generated Markdown to persistent storage after the conversion request ends. Temporary data in memory exists only for the duration needed to complete the request.

5. Third-Party Services

I use Vercel for website hosting and Render for the PDF conversion API. These providers process data on my behalf as needed to run the service. If I enable analytics or error monitoring in the future, I will update this Privacy Policy to name those tools.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

PDF a MD may use essential technologies required for basic site functionality. When enabled, Google Analytics (Google tag) is used to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Data Security

I use reasonable measures appropriate for a small, free online tool, including HTTPS encryption in transit. No method of transmission or processing is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Sensitive Content

Do not upload files containing highly sensitive, confidential, medical, legal, or financial information unless you accept the risks of using a personal, internet-based conversion tool.

9. Children's Privacy

PDF a MD is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Users

pdfamd.com may be accessed from different countries. If you use the service from outside the region where my hosting providers operate, your information may be processed in those locations.

11. Your Choices

Do not upload content you do not want processed for conversion. Because I do not operate user accounts and do not intentionally retain uploaded files, I generally cannot retrieve or delete a specific past upload after a request has finished.

12. Data Protection Requests

If you have a privacy-related question or request, email me at shua6715@gmail.com. I will respond within a reasonable time.

13. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Last updated date at the top will change when I do. Continued use of pdfamd.com after changes means you accept the updated policy.

14. Contact
