Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of pdfamd.com and the PDF a MD PDF to Markdown conversion service. The Service is operated by an individual developer ("I", "me", or "my"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

PDF a MD provides a free online tool to convert text-based PDF documents into Markdown (.md) files, including uploading a PDF, previewing converted Markdown, and downloading the resulting file. The Service is offered without requiring user registration.

2. Operator Status

PDF a MD is a personal project, not a registered company. I provide the Service in my individual capacity. You use the Service with the understanding that it is a small, independently operated tool.

3. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to upload files you do not have the right to convert, upload malware, bypass technical limits, scrape or overload the Service, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. I may block requests or restrict access if I reasonably believe you are misusing the Service.

5. Your Content

You retain any rights you have in the PDFs you upload and in the Markdown output. You grant me a limited license to process your uploaded PDF solely to provide the conversion you request. You are solely responsible for the content of files you upload, ensuring you have permission to convert them, and reviewing the Markdown before relying on it. Do not upload confidential or sensitive documents unless you accept the risks of using a free online tool.

6. Service Limits and Availability

Current limits include a maximum file size of 10MB, maximum of 50 pages, text-based PDFs only, and no OCR for scanned PDFs. Limits may change without notice. The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis and may experience cold starts or temporary delays.

7. Conversion Quality

PDF to Markdown conversion is automatic and may not perfectly preserve layout, tables, footnotes, images, formulas, or document structure. I do not warrant that output will be accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

8. Free Service

PDF a MD is currently free to use. I may introduce paid features, stricter limits, or registration in the future.

9. Intellectual Property

The PDF a MD name, website design, branding, and underlying software (excluding your uploaded content and generated output) are owned by me or my licensors.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party hosting and infrastructure, including Vercel and Render. I am not responsible for third-party services outside my reasonable control.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is a free personal project. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. My total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to USD $0 because the Service is currently provided free of charge.

13. Your Responsibility for Misuse

You are responsible for your use of the Service, the files you upload, and how you use the converted output, except where such limitation is not allowed by law.

14. Privacy

My Privacy Policy explains how I handle information. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

15. Disputes and Governing Law

Any dispute should first be raised in good faith by contacting shua6715@gmail.com. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be governed by the laws that apply where I am ordinarily resident at the time of the dispute, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of pdfamd.com after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
